New Store Openings at Victoria Gardens

Remember that one store at Victoria Gardens, Impression? You know the one that opened where Bombay used to be, with all those cheap, ugly clothes? I would always send evil glares and negative energy in that direction and think, what a waste of retail space.

Well turns out, it's gone! And alas, our dreams have come true, because in it's place we're getting.... (drum roll).... an H&M!! Rejoice people of Rancho Cucamonga, you will never have to drive out to Montclair/Chino Hills for cute cheap cardigans ever again! Halleluja!

So, we should be getting it by March... in the mean time, here's some cute hijabi friendly clothes I found at H&M last weekend.

New Openings

I know, I know it's been foeva-eva. But not to worry, I've been poking around for more hijabulous finds! Some new store opening that I super excited for:

Montclair Plaza

H&M (self explanatory... do I really need to post more pictures of all the amazing stuff H&M sells for hijabis? No? Ok, moving on)

Sidecca: This is a pretty cool/weird store. They pretty much have every basic tee you could ever want. In every color (literally), check it out:


That's a lot of freakin' cardigans man, and the price is pretty sweet:


And the long sleeve tees, a must have, 2 for $18:


Victoria Gardens Mall

American Apparel: This store isn't open yet, and though I'm not a fan of spending $26 for this Sheer Jersey Long Sleeve T when you can get 2 for $12 at Forever 21, it's pretty awesome for those hard to find colors when you're shopping for a Eid outfit the night before and are on the brink of a fashion disaster.


Cache: This store I'm actually feeling kinda lukewarm about. It's more for women in the 30-40 age group, but they did have some nice things, like this Mandarian Collar Gold Foil Dress.

Metropark: Ok so this place isn't really that new. It's been around for a couple of months, but I never went in before today. They have tons of cool brands, my favorite and latest obsession is Obey, check this out:


There's a freakin' hijabi in this Four Photo Bandana, lower right corner!

Thermal and Long Sleeved Tees at Jaloux

Went to Victoria Gardens today and of course had to pass by Jaloux. They had great long sleeved thermal and regular cotton tees as well as cute little cardigans... God I love this store.

Maxi-mize Your Dress

Maxi dresses are all over the place, which is great for us hijabis (and just in time for Eid). As usual, you can find great stuff in the Fashion District of Downtown LA, but for those of us who hit the malls, here are my current faves:

This Belted Halter Paisley Maxi Dress from Bebe is really cute and flowy. At $169 it's a bit pricey for me, but who could resist?


Here's another great Bebe dress. I usually don't shop in stores like this, but lately everything there has been so gosh darn cute. This Smocked Top Leopard Halter Maxi Dress is on sale for $76.99!


For something a little more causal, Jaloux has great cottony dresses. This Mod-like Halter Dress is only $37.99. There are currently only two Jaloux locations, and luckily one is next to my house.

Forever 21 has some nice dresses too. This Beaded Halter Maxi Dress is a steal for $24.80.

Since I'm not a fan of the long sleeved shirt under spaghetti/halter/tube top, I usually wear a little jacket or vest over the dress. It's a nice way to layer and add some color/texture to your outfit without looking too fobby.

Scarves-a-Plenty!

Have you ever had the cutest outfit, but no matching scarf? Of course, nothing beats going to Egypt for some good old fashioned hijab shoppin', but if you're tight on time, there are tons of places to find cute hijabs in a jiffy.

The best place to go is Bliss Accessories. They always have tons of scarves in different colors, neutrals, and a seasonal section (like the animal prints below).



The only two locations I know are:
Victoria Gardens Mall in Rancho Cucamonga
Westfeild Mainplace Mall in Santa Ana

Of course, you could probably find all these scarves in dowtown LA (if you know where to look). But they are reasonably priced ($8 - $12) and pretty darn cute.

H&M also always has a whole section of super cute scarves to pick from.

My latest obsession is the new line of Ed Hardy scarves. It's a cute, different way to wear the brand without looking like everyone else and their mom.
But alas, this Love Kills Slowly Heart & Skull Scarf sells at Bakers for $49.00. Yeah right.
