It's the most wonderful time of the year!!! Black Friday (aka bargain shopper's heaven) is here once again! And although it unfortunately coincides with Eid Al Adha this year, the best deals are before 8am anyhow. This leaves you just enough time to run home and get prettied up for (or drag yourself to) Eid prayer! So, before the list, here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your Black Friday experience without feeling suicidal... or homicidal.
1. Pre-shop
Visit the stores you like, go in before hand and try on everything you want to buy. That way, when those doors open, you can go straight to your items, grab them and breeze on outta there. Know someone working there? Even better. Ask them to put them on hold for you or set them aside the night before.
2. Get there early!
Find out what time the stores you want to go to open. Most department stores open at 4 or 5 am while mall stores open at 9, some outlet malls and various stores may be open at midnight. Plan your day around store openings, stores with items likely to run out, and with sales ending earliest. Be at the first store no less than 30 mins before doors open (unless you're looking to buy electronics, then you should probably head there after turkey... but this is about clothing. Moving on)
3. Split up
Going with a group? Try to get one person to go to each store and buy what everyone needs. Less waiting, but also less fun.
4. Dress comfortably
No one looks cute on Black Friday, comfortable pants and layers are key. If you didn't pre-shop and are trying things on, dress simply so that you can zip in and out of the fitting room.
5. Bring snacks and water
Only amateurs stop for food. But not too much water, bathrooms are guaranteed to be a zoo and you'll only waste precious shopping time in there. Unless you run to the bathroom while someone holds your place in line.
6. Research
Know which stores will have items you want on sale, or how great their sales will be. And that's where my handy list come in:
