New Store Openings at Victoria Gardens

Remember that one store at Victoria Gardens, Impression? You know the one that opened where Bombay used to be, with all those cheap, ugly clothes? I would always send evil glares and negative energy in that direction and think, what a waste of retail space.

Well turns out, it's gone! And alas, our dreams have come true, because in it's place we're getting.... (drum roll).... an H&M!! Rejoice people of Rancho Cucamonga, you will never have to drive out to Montclair/Chino Hills for cute cheap cardigans ever again! Halleluja!

So, we should be getting it by March... in the mean time, here's some cute hijabi friendly clothes I found at H&M last weekend.

Cardigans in every single color! $16.90

Grey Skirt $49.50

Navy Chiffon Skirt originally $59.50, now 50% off!

...And the had it in Peach too.

Turkish Hijab

Over the summer, when I was starting this blog, I came across a bunch of sites selling these shiny satin hijabs that are worn in the Turkish style. They're beautiful and elegant, but super expensive. Who wants to pay $40-50 for a hijab?

Forever 21 to the rescue! Of course, you won't get the same quality as the Turkish hijabs, but they do the trick. The best part is, they're all under $10. Sweet!

Stirrups Satin Scarf $8.80

Monarch Square Scarf (available in black, red, blue, and olive) $8.80

Floral Satin Scarf (available in black and pink) $7.80

Paisley Satin Scarf $8.80

Pastel Paisley Satin Scarf (available in pink and blue) $8.80

Not satisfied? You can get high quality satin hijabs at akeronline or hijabplanet.

Free Beauty Products this Tuesday!

Yep, you read correctly, it's makeup and it's FREE! Here's the deal: apparently someone sued a whole bunch of department stores for price fixing their cosmetics and beauty products, and although the stores admitted to no wrongdoing, they settled. The settlement involves $175 million worth of free cosmetics products being distributed to the members of the class (basically, anyone who bought cosmetics or beauty products between May 1994 and July 2003. Yes, that means YOU).

You do not have to show proof of purchase, and products will be distributed for one week beginning Tuesday, January 20th. The products will be one per person on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can get your free stuff at these stores (click on the links for a list of locations):

Bloomingdale's
Dillard's
Gottschalks
Macy's
Neiman Marcus
Nordstrom
Saks 5th Avenue

So the products that will be distributed are trial size, and were most likely created especially for this give-away. It won't be advertised, so you will need to go up to the counter and ask for it. Like I said, no proof of purchase required, but you will have to sign a form stating that you have received the product. Here's the complete list (click on the links for product info):

Boucheron Eau de Toilette (1 ounce/30 ml)
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle body lotion (3.4 fluid oz)
Christian Dior J’Adore Eau de Parfum (15 ml)
Clarins Energizing Morning Cream (30 ml)
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (30 ml)
Calvin Klein Euphoria Sensual Bath and Shower Crème (6.7 oz)

Long Dresses at TJ Maxx

Call me obsessed, by I have to have my outfits planned for big events in advance, sometimes months. That way, I have enough time to make jackets and find a matching hijab. On that note, wedding season will be here before you know it, along with henna season, shower season, and kitab/nikah season. So I was walking around TJ Maxx and they had this whole rack of long maxi dresses (see below), which would be perfect for any of those events. You could simply pair them with a cute little jacket, check out my past post on cardigans for places to find them.

Macy's Store Closing in Los Angeles

Hello fellow fashionistas! I have great news, the Macy's store at Ernst & Young Plaza (Citicorp Plaza) in Los Angeles is closing. Well, maybe it's not-so-good news for Macy's, but great for us, because store closings can only mean one thing: major clearance sales!

According to the LA Times article, clearance sales will begin next week. The store is located at 920 Seventh Street Los Angeles, CA 90017, check out the plaza site here.

*UPDATE*

Sales are starting off at 30-50% off everything store wide, expect escalating discounts as the clearance sale progresses. This location does not carry cosmetics or fragrance. This sale will run until the end of February.

Express Skirt on Sale

Whoot! The aforementioned skirt from Express (below) is on sale! Yep went from $128 to $50, plus 20% off that! Yay got it today, it's really nice quality and good for formal/semi-formal events. Only one drawback, good luck finding them... I had to drive to the Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos in Corona to get mine, and there were only about 4 left. And watch out for the sizes, if it's a teeny bit too tight, it'll start to do this weird ripple thing, so try it on first. Happy hunting ladies!
